Lucas Oak Frames construction

Once the timber arrives at the yard, the first step is to check through the timber to make sure it is as ordered. Then the timber is laid out on trestles in 2D layups which is then levelled in length and twist. The next step is to mark the joints using techniques such as distance bubble scribing or layup scribing. Once it is all marked up, each joint is cut using a variety of hand held power tools and hand tools then test fitted in the yard. When it is all together and the measurements checked, each piece is chisel marked so as to determine where each element is within the frame. Once the yard work reaches completion it is then stacked away ready to be loaded out onto the lorry.
